Description
3alacarta is a 24 hour news channel operated by Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) in Catalonia. It is part of the five channel DVB-T multiplex of TVC. Currently, it broadcasts in digital terrestrial (DVB-T) and cable (DVB-C) television. Analogue broadcasting (PAL) was intended to be shut down in late 2006, but as for 2008 it is still available in some cities. Although satellite (DVB-S) broadcasting was initially considered, it was discarded due to the high cost of uploading the channel stream into satellites.
