ATV Hungary is the first Hungarian private television network, broadcasting continuously since 1989. ATV Hungary has become a household name and point of professional reference in Hungary. Broadcast time is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the focus of programming is news, public life, current events. Licensed as a partially public service commercial television station, it is obliged to broadcasting public interest programs (news, current affairs, sports, religion) 50% of the time. Because of this special status, ATV Hungary is eligible to apply for grants from the government and the radio and television authority.
